Meet Tariq Mir, the relentless creative force behind the miraculous resurrection and meteoric ascension of some of Pakistan's most powerful brands.  

 

In his extensive, illustrious career spanning over 3 decades as CEO, Chief Creative Officer and TVC director/producer for CCI, Tariq was a jet-setting, globe-trotting emboldened perfectionist, who took unprecedented and fearless strides in establishing national acclaim for several monumental brands, including those of Bonanza, Sparkle, Dawlance, Sitara, Shield, Tibet, Mother Care, Hussein Lawn, Firdous and B.P. to name a few.  Frequently imitated, yet never replicated, his penchant for creating nostalgic, sentimental and compelling campaigns replete with timeless taglines and catchy jingles became an indelible hallmark, reverberating melodiously through the hearts of the population for decades to come  Amongst his most memorable contributions in creating colossal brands from scratch are the lines, "Dawlance Liya To Baat Bani," and "Bonanza- absolutely world class."  (CASE STUDIES SOON!) 

 

True to his trend-setting and rule-breaking nature, Tariq was eons ahead of his contemporaries emblematized by both his Western style and aptitude for creative technological advancement.  During the late 70s, while other directors were comfortably ensconced in the status quo of shooting commercials locally, Tariq was frequently crossing the Transatlantic frontier, heralding a remarkable new era of Pakistani advertising. Flying coast to coast, capturing the cosmopolitan skylines of New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, his commercials featured exquisite American models, as early as 1979. He also pioneered the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) exemplified by his introduction of 3D animation (motion graphics), as well as by becoming Pakistan's first Photoshop artist in the late 80s, forever changing the face of advertising as we knew it.

 

Tariq Mir is one of those rarified entities for whom creativity isn't merely a professional onus- it's a way of life. His inherent gift for harmoniously merging moving copy with addictive melody stems from a deep understanding of the human psyche evoking the desired emotions for flying products off the shelves.  We are unremittingly enthusiastic about his involvement at MAQ and look forward to building great campaigns, and even greater brands together.
